OVERVIEW

CAMFA hosts football programs in the spring and fall.  The spring program runs from April to June.  This is a developmental tackle program for boys aged 9-16 and girls aged 9-14.  The fall program is more competitive and larger, hosting a range of curriculums, running from mid-August to the first of November.  The fall curriculum includes Tiny Tykes (ages 3-5), Flag Football (ages 6-9), Atom tackle (u12), PeeWee tackle (u14), Bantam tackle (u16), and Jr. Girls tackle (ages 14-17).

Varsity tackle (u18) is managed/run through the athlete's school.  Varsity is not a CAMFA program.

SPRING TACKLE PROGRAM

The spring program is a great introduction to tackle football.  This program focuses on skill and knowledge building for boys aged 9-16 and girls aged 9-14.  (Fall program hosts a Varisty Girls division for ages 14-17yrs)

Spring teams practice together with their division (all u12, u14, u16) at the same location and time.  Atom (u12) teams play against each other.  Pee Wee (u14) games are against each other as well as one interlock game with either Saint John or Moncton.  Bantam (u16) games are against each other as well as one interlock game with either Saint John or Moncton.  Teams are made through a draft a few weeks into the spring season.  Atom usually drafts 4 teams.  Pee Wee and Bantam usually draft 2 teams each.  Even after teams are drafted, all divisions will practice at the same location and time.

The spring season runs from the beginning of April to the first of June.  The start of the spring season is usually held indoors at the BMO Center dome on campus due to the snow.  As soon as turf fields are available, division practices and games are scheduled outside at one of the three turf fields, Oromocto, Scotia North, and Scotia South.

All gear is included with the registration fee with the exception of cleats.  Cleats are not mandatory, however, suggested for safety and better mobility.  Girdles (boxer-like shorts that hold thigh, hip, and tailbone pads) are available for purchase at gear fittings, again not mandatory.

Gear fittings are scheduled at Willie O'Ree by division, usually around the first practice of the season.  CAMFA's door at Willie O'Ree is the 3rd door from the front on the side facing the parking lot.  A gear deposit is required upon gear fitting.  This is returned when equipment is turned back at the end of the spring season.

Atom age eligibility - no older than 11yrs by December 31 of the year of play.  Atom rules can be found here.

Pee Wee age eligibility - no older than 13yrs by December 31 of the year of play.  Pee Wee rules can be found here.

Bantam age eligibility - no older than 15yrs by December 31 of the year of play.  Bantam rules can be found here.
